In case people hadn't realised, I am really a deeply sad and easy to please person which is why I covet one of these: :

I went to belly-dancing yesterday, and I continue to enjoy it. I think we did the hip-kick (not sure if that is the right name, it is the thing you speed up into a hip shimmy), hip-slide combined with some basic arm movements (or not depending on your level of competence), and something involving doing a figure 8 with your hip horizontally, which was rather beyond me, and a hip drop, and some things with our shoulders. :
I am going to go again on Thursday, mainly because the person I know in the group couldn't make it yesterday, but I also like doing it.
Afterwards I went shopping in a nearby Tesco and was home quite late. I watched an episode of Dr. Who and went to bed later than I wanted but still at a fairly reasonable time. There is only one more episode to go, then I am going to have watched all three series. Well, it is time to watch some Bollywood after that I think.

I think I just agreed to meet lots of other Bollywood nutters in May in Germany. I am rather looking forward to it. :

I have a new computer. It is shiny with a big screen and it arrived over the weekend with my Dad who was on his way back from Cornwall. However, due to various reasons it spend the first couple of day on my dinning table, which isn't really a permanent solution as I occasionally use it for its original purpose and also like to sit somewhere comfortable when I watch Dvds which was the main reason for buying something with a big screen. Now it is in the position I thought I wanted it to be in, only all the wires are on the wrong side, and I have wire barf all over the living room. Putting it in a more sensible position wirewise, would mean rearranging the flat and probably having one comfy seat to watch the screen from. I might do some more furniture moving tonight (it is a small flat, so it isn't a great problem), so it means having to carry all the bits and pieces across the room again, and some bits won't come unstuck, which makes for an interesting relay move. Also, if I move the table, I think the big plant leaning against it might fall over, it looks rather as if it needed it for balance.
Apart from that Monday went at its usual snails pace, work hasn't changed over the weekend and I finally watched Torchwood online with proper sound and enjoyed every minute of it.

My day so far::
Missed the bus this morning by a couple of minutes due to failing to find the fast forward button for myself. I then decided to walk to the bus stop further on as it probably meant getting to work earlier than waiting for the next bus. On the way there two cars crashed into each other on the road beside me. No people were hurt but one of the cars was badly damaged. Luckily, they were both going rather slowly. Anyway, I left my details with one of the drivers. I then took the later bus to town, as it all happened right next to one of the bus stops on its route. Later on during the journey, somebody in front of us go out of a car overlooking a cyclist, who cycled into the open door. She was going slowly and everybody was fine, and went on their way fairly quickly.
I know, I often complain that my life is somewhat boring, but if any higher authority is listening, this was not the excitment I had in mind. I think I prefer boring.

I just wrote a note to myself that I need to wait to hear from Jesus about something. Sometimes my job is fun. :
Also, I went to Belly-dancing for the first time on Tuesday and it was fun and I wasn't to shattered the next day (at least not from the belly-dancing). I also met an ex-work colleague there and it was nice to catch up as well as having a friendly face around.
I haven't watched much Bollywood recently as I have been making my way through Dr. Who and through the first two series of North and South (the one base on John Jake's novels, known in Germany as Fackeln im Sturm). The latter is really great, not for the dairy intolerant, what with all the cheese, and just like Bollywood, just with more sex and less singing. However, it showed me how my perception has changed having spend the last year or so watching almost exclusively Hindi movies. The box said mild sex and bloody violence, whereas to me the sexual content was quite racy whereas the violence wasn't too bad. Yes, there was blood, but then there are scenes from two wars and a number of floggins, so it isn't exactly unexpected and compared to some of the rivers of blood flowing in a Bollywood action movie it was rather restrained.

I decided to create space for me to obssess about Bollywood (and hopefully to cut down on weekend phonecalls :)). Currently still rather empty: :

My boss left this lunchtime to attend a seminar in London in the afternoon. He is then going to be off Friday and Monday. If R my female colleague hadn't overheard him telling his plans to strange S, my male colleague yesterday and then had told me about it, this lunchtime would have been the first time I heard about it. It is driving me up the wall. Is it really that difficult to remember this sort of thing beforehand and send out an e-mail.
